What is supervision?
Supervision is a way of learning, growing, and supporting yourself in professional life, whether as a practitioner or researcher. It has been described as:
…a particular kind of professional conversation. It is not the kind of conversation that involves giving people advice, assessing them or solving their problems for them. It is the kind that happens when you provide space, time, and professional support for colleagues so that they can reflect on their encounters with patients or with colleagues. Supervision in this sense is about looking after people rather than looking over their shoulders…it offers opportunity for reflection and is non-judgemental.

Why choose me?
Supervision has played major role in developing and sustaining my career as an acupuncturist and researcher. Since qualifying as an acupuncturist nearly 25 years ago, I have chosen to have continual, regular supervision, supplementing group supervision with 1-2-1 mentoring. I thus have first-hand knowledge of how valuable supervision and mentoring can be in supporting professional development. Read how this has benefitted me here.
In 2023, I completed formal training in supervision and training, studying with Isobel Cosgrove and Sally Blades. In 2024, I will be offering more supervision opportunities for colleagues. Sign up below to receive updates as I develop this initiative..
